2015 CHRISTMAS FOOD DRIVE
The annual 2015 CHRISTMAS FOOD DRIVE for the benefit of the Ipswich Food Pantry is underway.
The drive will operate from December 01 - 21.
Marked boxes have been placed in the lobby of the VFW Hall to collect non-perishable food items.

DECEMBER 2015 MEETING

VETERAN'S DAY OBSERVANCES
The following activities are scheduled in observance of Veteran's Day, Wednesday 11 November 11 2015.
1. The 2015 Veterans Appreciation Breakfast will be held on Saturday, 07 November 2015 from 0900 - 1100 at the VFW Hall on County Road. Participants are urged to arrive around 0830.
This event is hosted by Representative Brad Hill and the First Church of Ipswich. Please RSVP Maura Driscoll, Legislative Aide to Representative Hill: Maura.Driscoll@mahouse.gov or (617) 722-2100.
2. The 2015 Veteran's Day Parade will form up at the Ipswich War Memorial at 1030 on Wednesday, 11 November 2015. A short ceremony will be held and then parade to the VFW Hall for closing ceremonies. Refreshments will be served after the parade.
3. The 1640 Hart House has again opened it's doors for a free luncheon to all Ipswich Vets. Eligible veterans are asked to assemble at 1300 on Wednesday, 11 November 2015 at the Hart House. A short ceremony to commemorate the 150th Birthday of the US Marine Corps will be held prior to serving lunch. Veterans attending must be residents of Ipswich but do not have to be members of a veterans organization.

The August 4 meeting was coincidentally COAST GUARD DAY, which this year marked the 225th Birthday of the Nation's oldest continuous naval service. Refreshments were served at the end of the meeting.

SEMI-ANNUAL 50/50 RAFFLE
The Semi-Annual 50/50 Raffle was held at the July meeting. Paul Lemieux was the winner of a $63 prize. The post will add the remainder to the bank account to support Post operations.

FLAG DAY
Sunday, June 14 is Flag Day. Traditionally Post 80 schedules a flag decommissioning/disposal event for all worn US flags. Final scheduling has not yet been completed. Watch this space for further details.

IPSWICH DINNER BELL
Post 80 is sponsoring the weekly Dinner Bell community meal on Monday, June 22. Ten members have volunteered to date, and more are welcome. Members are to meet at the Masonic Hall on Topsfield Road at 1600 hrs. For more information, contact Commander Graffum.
POST RAFFLE
Post 80 was the winner of the new gas grill raffled off by District 8. Post 80 membership voted to raffle the grill off to Post members, with Stan Trocki being the lucky winner!

A tentative date of Monday, June 8 has been set for the Post 80 sponsorship of the weekly Ipswich Dinner Bell community dinner. Volunteers are needed to assist with hosting and serving the meal.
All cooking, setup and cleanup will be done by professional staff.

APRIL 2015 MEETING

Membership has voted to sponsor one night of the Ipswich Dinner Bell community meal. A exact date of the event will be determined at the April meeting. Dinner Bell staff do all the meal planning, shopping, cooking and primary setup for the evening. Post volunteers are need to assist serving and provide a representative presence for the Post.
UNIFORM ITEMS
The Commander is in the process of compiling a new uniform item order. Anyone desiring a windbreaker, jacket, sweatshirt, hat, etc. should contact him promptly before the order is submitted.
