JUNE 2013 MEETING

The next meeting will be held at 1900 on Tuesday, 4 June 2013 in the VFW Hall.
New officers will be sworn in at the meeting.  Uniform of the Day is dress for all officers.

MEMORIAL DAY 2013

The Memorial Day activities are as follows:

   - Poppy Drive - May 17 - 19
      Multiple locations throughout 
      Ipswich & Rowley.
      Volunteers needed.

   - Ipswich Schools Veterans Ceremonies
      May 22
      Depart the VFW via bus at 0730 for 
      ceremonies at Ipswich High & Middle 
      Schools, Winthrop School and Doyon 
      School.  
      Lunch to be offered at Doyon School 
      at 1200.

   - Decoration of Cemeteries - May 24
      Place flags at all veterans graves 
      commencing at 1800.

   - Religious Services - May 26
      Form up outside the Assumption 
      Greek Orthodox Church at 0945.

   - Parade - May 27
      Form up on North Main Street at 
      0930, ceremony to begin at 1000.

2013 IHS SCHOLARSHIP

A meeting of the Scholarship Committee was held on Tuesday, May 7. Members reviewed 17 applications submitted by graduating seniors at Ipswich High School and a selection was made for the 2013 award. That senior will be publicly identified after proper notifications have been made to IHS.
